Our Mission

GreenTrails Poland was founded with a single purpose: to provide travellers with reliable, thoroughly researched information about sustainable tourism opportunities across Poland. We believe that responsible travel begins with access to accurate information, and that informed visitors make better decisions for the environment, local communities, and their own experience.

Poland is home to 23 national parks, vast tracts of ancient forest, mountain ranges, lake districts, and a coastline rich in biodiversity. Yet much of this natural wealth remains underrepresented in mainstream travel media, or is covered superficially without attention to the ecological context. GreenTrails Poland exists to fill that gap by producing in-depth, editorially independent guides that help readers plan trips respectful of the places they visit.

Our coverage extends beyond nature reserves to include sustainable food culture, green urban exploration, low-impact transport options, and the communities working to preserve Poland's environmental heritage. Every article on this site is written to educate, not to sell.

Editorial Approach

All content published on GreenTrails Poland is based on firsthand research. Our writers visit the destinations they cover, walk the trails they describe, and eat at the establishments they recommend. We do not publish reviews or guides based solely on secondary sources or press materials.

Articles are updated on a regular cycle to ensure that practical details such as trail conditions, opening hours, permit requirements, and transport connections remain current. Each article displays its most recent update date, and we welcome reader corrections when details have changed.

We verify factual claims against official sources, including data from the Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment, national park administrations, Statistics Poland, and peer-reviewed environmental research. Where figures are estimates or subject to seasonal variation, we note this clearly in the text.

Our Editorial Team

Marta Kowalska

Editor-in-Chief

Marta brings over a decade of experience in environmental journalism to GreenTrails Poland. She previously covered climate policy and conservation for Polish and European outlets, with a particular focus on how tourism intersects with environmental protection. She oversees all editorial decisions, manages the publication schedule, and ensures that every article meets our standards for accuracy and depth.

Tomasz Nowak

Trail & Outdoor Writer

A certified mountain guide with extensive fieldwork across the Tatras, Bieszczady, and Karkonosze ranges, Tomasz writes our hiking and outdoor adventure content. His guides include verified GPS data, elevation profiles, and seasonal trail conditions gathered from repeated visits throughout the year. He is also our primary researcher on national park regulations and permit systems.

Agnieszka Lewandowska

Food & Culture Editor

With an academic background in food anthropology and years spent documenting rural food traditions across Poland, Agnieszka leads our coverage of regional cuisine, farmers' markets, and farm-to-table dining. She specialises in connecting food culture with broader sustainability themes, mapping the relationships between local producers, seasonal ingredients, and community-supported agriculture across Polish regions.

Piotr Wisniewski

Photography & Digital

Piotr is a nature photographer whose work has appeared in conservation publications and environmental campaigns. At GreenTrails Poland, he manages all visual content, ensuring that imagery accurately represents the destinations we cover. He also handles the technical side of our digital presence, from site performance to accessibility, and advocates for ethical photography practices that minimise disturbance to wildlife and habitats.

Our Standards

Editorial independence is the foundation of everything we publish. GreenTrails Poland does not accept sponsored content, paid placements, or affiliate-driven recommendations. We do not receive compensation from any accommodation, tour operator, or tourism board in exchange for coverage. This policy ensures that our readers can trust our assessments as genuine and unbiased.

Our fact-checking process involves cross-referencing key claims with at least two independent sources. Statistical data is drawn from official Polish government databases, European Environment Agency reports, and peer-reviewed publications. When a claim cannot be independently verified, we either omit it or clearly identify it as unconfirmed.

We are committed to transparent methodology. If an article relies on a particular dataset, study, or official regulation, we reference it within the text so that readers can consult the original material. Our goal is not only to inform but to equip readers with the tools to evaluate information for themselves.

How to Contribute

We welcome input from readers, local experts, and fellow travellers. If you have visited a destination we cover and noticed that details have changed, or if you have a suggestion for new content, we want to hear from you.

Please send tips, corrections, or editorial suggestions to editorial@greentrailspoland.com. Our editorial team reviews all incoming messages and will follow up when your input leads to updates or new coverage. While we cannot respond to every message individually, every submission is read and considered.
